ROA at different wavelengths

Raman Optical Activity (ROA) can be measured at multiple excitation wavelengths.

As shown here for neat (+)/(−) beta pinene, the ROA and Raman spectra are consistent across 405 nm, 532 nm, and 785 nm.

For more complex or fluorescent samples, a different wavelength can make all the difference:

  • Reduce fluorescence – choose a wavelength that minimizes fluorescence to reveal the true ROA signal.
  • Access resonant ROA – tune into electronic transitions to enhance ROA sensitivity and selectivity.

Three wavelengths. One platform. More possibilities. All three wavelengths (405 nm, 532 nm, and 785 nm) are available on Enantios instruments today.

We are actively looking for challenging molecules to run studies with. Want to hear more? Reach out to contact@enantios.com.
